We thank each and everyone of these fabulous people for taking part in fundraising events to raise funds for Nacoa.

Volunteers abseiled for Nacoa

On October 9th, 2011, supporters of Nacoa rallied together to raise money for children who are vulnerable, living in the shadow of their parents’ drinking, by testing their own fears to the max.
'Abseiling delivers an experience of fear and apprehension; the same feeling a child endures when they return from school to an alcoholic home. Nacoa delivers a safety rope, so desperately needed, with an experienced team of volunteers who are firmly anchored into an understanding of the problems these children face in their daily lives.'
(Hilary Henriques MBE, Co-founder and CEO, Nacoa)

One 50m cliff face, two ropes, and over 50 participants. Fears were faced to help children living in fear. Many thanks to all who took part and supported us on the day.

Isla Mackay raised funds for Nacoa by taking part in the BUPA Great North Run on the 18th September 2011, completing it in 2 hours 28 minutes 'in spite of the inclines'. Isla considers Nacoa to be a very special charity, and has so far raised £1,250! We are very grateful to Isla; please visit her JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/IslaMackay and perhaps show your appreciation by a further donation.

Annie Pitts took part in the Century Cycle Challenge on Sunday 21 May. This involved cycling 102 miles from Nevill Holt in Leicestershire to Brancaster Staithe on the Norfolk Coast. It sounds a very daunting task since the initial part of the route is very hilly. We hope that it all went well; you can visit Annie's Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/Annie-Pitts--

Team Bieber, comprising Emma Blott and Mary Spender, took part in a "Jailbreak" on the March 5th for Bristol RAG Week in order to raise funds for Nacoa. This involved them persuading people/organisations to give them free travel so that they could get as far away from Bristol as possible in 36 hours. Whilst raising money they also hoped to raise the profile of Nacoa by winning the competition. You can still support Emma and Mary by visiting www.justgiving.com/Mary-Spender0.

Incredibly, they reached Perth (Australia, not Scotland) and have raised over £700 so far for Nacoa, more than three and a half times their target!!!! Congratulations and much admiration from all at Nacoa. See their video here.
